Entry from: Urretxu, Spain Entry Title: "Basking in the Beauty of Basque Country" Entry: "As I headed south on the E05 out of Bordeaux towards Spain on the morning of August 12, I was looking forward to several things: visiting the Spanish Atlantic Coast, taking in some good treks in the mountains of Basque Country and getting to practice my Spanish one last time before I returned to the US. San Sebastian, in Basque Country, Spain, was a "must visit" city recommended to me by two separate pairs of Spanish friends from nearby Bilbao whom I had met on my round the world journey (thanks, David, Maria, Elena y Laura. Wish I could have also made it to Bilbao as well -- but there's always a need for an excuse for another trip, and hopefully next time you guys will be back in your country and up for showing a guest your city!). As such, I had originally planned on visiting this quite cosmopolitan resort town on the Atlantic for a night or two of R&R. However, by the time I entered Spain, my cravings for mountains and cooler weather overrode the need for more time on the beach, and while I did drive through/by San Sebastian, my end goal was to find a hotel in the more mountainous areas to the south of the coast where I would spend a night or two.
